Max 12 per pathway

A-Level starts
in September.
Is your child ready?

Most students finish GCSEs and assume A-Level is more of the same. It isn't. Four days in August changes that.

The problem

The gap between GCSE and A-Level
is bigger than schools let on.

Schools don't teach the transition.
They hand out a reading list and assume students will figure it out. By October, most are already behind.
GCSE rewarded memory. A-Level rewards argument.
That shift is rarely explained. Students who coasted on effort find they don't know how to write.
Independence is assumed, not taught.
Three subjects. Coursework. No one chasing them. The students who struggle most were often fine at GCSE.
Confidence drops fast.
One bad lesson in a subject they were good at is enough. That spiral starts earlier than most parents expect.
By the time most families notice, it is already half-term.
August is the only window left to change that.
Four days. The right start to Year 12.

Who this is for

Your child probably fits here if…

They worked hard at GCSE
and you want that to carry into Year 12, not get lost in a difficult first term.
They're taking essay subjects
and have never written at the length or depth A-Level actually demands.
They're taking STEM subjects
and the jump in abstraction is bigger than their school has let on.
They're bright but disorganised
and GCSE let them get away with it. A-Level won't.
They lack confidence
in new academic settings, or go quiet when they don't understand something immediately.
You want September to feel planned
not spent figuring out what A-Level actually expects.
Why Hannah's Tutoring

They've been where your child is going.

Taught by students who sat these exams recently
Every tutor is a current Oxbridge or Russell Group student, teaching the subject they study themselves. They know what mark schemes reward because they navigated them recently, not years ago.
Near-peer teaching works differently
Students ask questions they wouldn't ask a teacher. The age gap is small enough that the conversation feels honest. A-Level felt overwhelming to your child's tutor too.
What September looks like

With and without this week.

Without the programme
September starts and the pace is immediately overwhelming
Essay structure and mark scheme logic are unfamiliar
Independence expected but never taught
Confidence drops after the first hard lesson
By October they are already behind
Catching up while keeping up becomes the whole of Year 12
With the programme
They know what A-Level demands before it begins
Essay structure, mark schemes, academic writing practised
Independent study habits built before pressure starts
Confidence from a week of structured, successful work
September feels like a continuation, not a shock
First half-term is consolidation, not catch-up

Questions

FAQs

Is this revision or something different?+
This is a transition programme, not GCSE revision. Every session is built around what actually changes at A-Level: depth, independence, essay length, and academic expectation. Students who have just finished their GCSEs are exactly the right audience.
Which week should we book?+
Both weeks deliver identical content at identical prices. Week 1 (10–13 August) suits families who want the programme before GCSE results day. Week 2 (24–27 August) works for those with earlier holidays or who prefer to wait until results are in.
Can my child attend both pathways?+
Yes. Students taking a mix of STEM and essay A-Levels can attend both. Group sessions run back to back in the morning with a break between. Select "Both pathways" in the booking selector above and dual-pathway pricing applies automatically.
What is the Year 12 Roadmap?+
A personalised written document issued the Monday after the programme ends, included with Bespoke. Built from your child's 1:1 sessions during the week, it covers their specific subjects, areas to prioritise, a study plan for September and October, and recommended resources per subject. Not a generic document.
Who teaches the sessions?+
All tutors are current students at Oxbridge or Russell Group universities, teaching subjects they study themselves. They sat these exact specifications recently and understand current mark schemes and examiner expectations firsthand.
How does the 10% tuition discount work?+
Every booking includes 10% off the first full month of ongoing 1:1 tuition with Hannah's Tutoring, starting September 2026. The discount code is issued after the programme ends and applies to all three tiers.
Are sessions recorded?+
No. All sessions are live and unrecorded. This keeps cohorts small, engaged, and genuinely interactive.
